Tama Drums are a
band of drum kit and hardware manufacturers that fall under the remit
of the Japanese company Hoshino Gakki. Tama Drums are one of the
largest and most widely recognised names in the business on the market.
Originally they were known more for their sturdiness and durability
when touring but Tama Drums have since built up a reputation for
themselves as producers of high quality instruments. Research and
development along with a lage portion of production for the Tama
professional drums is completed in Seto, Japan while the more
affordable kits in the Tama Drums range are crafted in China. The
company also has a large number of offices across the world to support
its global distribution network.
Tama have created an entire line of drums from hand made limited
editions through to mass produced models for beginner or budget
concious drummers. The company also use a wide variety of sizes,
shapes, and finishes to create their kits so you can be sure that with
Tama you will be able to find a kit that suits both you and your
wallet. On the vast majority of Tama drums the inside of the shell is
signed by the person who made the drum. Most are sold in matching sets
with a matched snare, or shell packs ommitting the snare drum. Tama was
also one of the first drum companies that offered super heavy duty
hardware designed to withstand the rigours of constant touring, and
they also developed teh free floating drum mounting system that allows
the shell to resonate freely for a much better sound.
